For the last few years, we have been working to repeal Florida Statute 768.21(8). This law as it is written, prohibits victims from accessing a court of law. It is preventing a certain class of people from seeking justice and that is against our Constitutional Rights. 

This year, our group was unsuccessful in getting our bill added to the Senate Judiciary Committee's agenda. SB 690 was created to repeal Statute 768.21(8). We had an uphill battle during the 2023 legislative session. We will be back again next year and we will be pushing to get the sponsored bills heard so that Statute 768.21(8) is repealed.
